The pitch

Generate turns (vectorizes) the terabytes your customer already stores in NetApp into a private, on-prem AI layer — agents that query and act on that data with nothing leaving the perimeter, deployed on the AIPod Mini in under 20 minutes.

The universal opener
“You’ve consolidated your data on NetApp. What’s stopping you from running AI directly on it?”

Then listen. The answer is almost always one of four — security, cost, skills, or compliance — and every one of those is a Generate strength. You are now selling.

Qualify on business, not bytes

  • An AI initiative underway — and who owns it?
  • A use case blocked by legal or security over data egress?
  • Exposure to per-token or cloud-AI cost?
  • The most painful document-heavy workflow?
  • A compliance-heavy, privacy-sensitive environment?
  • A storage or GPU refresh in the next 2–3 quarters?

Buying signals

  • “We can’t send that data to the cloud.”
  • “Our AI pilot stalled in security review.”
  • “Our AI bill is getting scary.”
  • An active refresh, lots of unstructured data, a regulated vertical.
Four buyers, four one-liners

CFO / business owner

Cares about outcome, fixed cost, fast payback. “The answer is a SKU with an ROI, not a slide.”

CISO / compliance

Cares about egress and audit. “Nothing leaves the perimeter. Ever. It’s all logged.”

CIO / infrastructure

Cares about turnkey, no new skills. “A working stack in 20 minutes on the storage you own.”

Data / AI lead

Cares about breadth and openness. “200 agents, 56 connectors, SuperAgent, your choice of model.”

Objections, sizing, and the fastest path

Top objections, answered
  • “We already have Copilot / ChatGPT Enterprise.” Additive, not a replacement. Generate is for the data those tools can’t touch — PHI, claims, contracts, source code — running inside the perimeter on their NetApp.
  • “We’ll build it ourselves.” That is 6–12 months of wiring vLLM, a vector DB, Kafka, and Kubernetes, plus permanent maintenance. Generate is the same stack in 20 minutes, already integrated with NetApp. Build the agents, not the plumbing.
  • “I already have a vertical AI app.” Keep it. Generate is the private data layer on the customer’s NetApp — it vectorizes and governs the data, runs inside the perimeter, and serves your app governed data over API, MCP, and connectors. The data never leaves NetApp.
  • “Security will never approve AI.” That is exactly why it exists: zero egress, an immutable SnapLock audit trail, and model, data, and hardware all under the customer’s control.
Sizing at a glance — AIPod Mini

Small — proof of value

1× Dell PowerEdge XE7740 · 1× RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell (96 GB) · NetApp AFF A20 · no HA. Departmental pilots and focused workgroups.

Medium — production

2× XE7740 + 2× R260 control plane · 4× RTX Pro 6000 per server · AFF A20 · active-active HA. Multi-team deployments with uptime requirements.

Large — enterprise

4× XE7740 across two HA pairs · 4× RTX Pro 6000 per server · AFF A20 / A30 / A50. Org-wide and regulated deployments at scale.

Rule of thumb. Proof of value → Small · department or multi-team → Medium · enterprise-wide or regulated at scale → Large. The platform is identical across sizes; expanding only adds redundancy and nodes. Deployment is three steps, about 20 minutes, run by the partner with one installer.
The fastest path to a win
  • 1. Find the blocked AI use case — where legal or security said no to the cloud.
  • 2. Tie it to one document-heavy, high-dollar workflow.
  • 3. Propose a Small-config proof of value on the AIPod Mini.
  • 4. Land the outcome, then expand to HA and multi-node as teams adopt.
Where to start the pitch

Start with one blocked, document-heavy, high-dollar workflow. Land the outcome — the expansion funds itself.
